I recently had a wonderful stay at this luxurious 4-star hotel. The location was perfect, just a block from the main Cathedral & Square and within walking distance to all the main attractions. The staff at this place were incredibly friendly and helpful, with the receptionist Ximena going above and beyond to provide me with great advice on tours and activities. I also appreciated their kind gesture of bringing us a traditional dulce cooked by Ximena's mom for Carnaval. The room was spacious, clean, and well-equipped, with a dining table and a flat-screen TV. The hotel also offered free Wi-Fi and a car park for added convenience.
I recommend this hotel to everyone.

The staff was so friendly and helpful that I was blown away. They anticipated my needs and made thoughtful and helpful suggestions throughout my stay. At one point, the kind lady at the front desk ran 2 block down the street to catch up with my family to make sure we were headed in the right direction. Their suggestions for eating were spot on. They even got us into a restaurant that was booked without a reservation and then the chef treated us extra special (it must have been at the request of the hotel). The room was large and comfortable. We thought there was an issue with the hot water, but the help showed us the hot and cold were reversed on the shower. All in all a top notch experience. I highly recommend Hotel Santa Monica.

Number 1: the staff and service were great. They go the extra step to make sure your visit is a pleasurable one. The staff was always pleasant. Our Spanish is poor at best, but they were excellent at understanding our needs and following through with taking care of the same. Love this hotel and the people there. I had requested a room with a nice wiew, they provided that, and how!
The only thing I don't like was that we could not stay longer.

Its location is perfect; we were one block away from all the city attractions, which made it so easy to walk everywhere. the room was very comfortable, with a very nice view of the city. the service was impeccable, with an especially helpful lady at the front desk. the breakfast was quite good, with a nice variety of choices.
The intermittent internet service; however, there are many cafes around the area that offer free wifi.

The room as big and clean and they served a nice continental breakfast.
Our room was facing the street and we heard noise all night long. There was no heat in the room, so we had to ask for 2 extra blankets.

Great location, friendly and helpful staff
In terms of drawbacks, the hotel did have some minor issues. The Wi-Fi connectivity was intermittent and would occasionally disconnect, causing slight inconvenience.

Everything!!!! The staff and owner of this hotel are amazing...helpful, smiling, they all go the "extra mile". Claudia at the front desk is professional, courteous and is always ready to assist. The entire staff whether at the front desk, breakfast room, or domestic are the nicest people I have ever encountered at any hotel! Our room was quite large, bed was comfy, plenty of hot water, very clean and I even had the opportunity to watch International House Hunters on Fox Life. (This was an added plus!) Breakfast was nice with many choices. Room was clean and sunny. The staff stayed busy keeping everything filled. (They were always smiling too!!) Location was great! The center of town is only a couple blocks away. (Tour bus - 2 blks away, restraunts- everywhere and transportation is not a problem and inexpensive ). Airport is closeby but our rooml was really quiet. We were blessed to stay here. I highly recommend this hotel. We would never stay at another hotel while visiting Cuenca. When we checked out, we felt like we had left part of our family. Thank you!!!

The hotel staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Claudia was especially warm and eager to help. The room size was excellent and the beds were comfortable. The room and bath were clean.
The major disappointment with the room was the lighting. With every possible bulb illuminated I could barely see my computer keyboard. It was not possible to read in bed. The overall lighting level was so low as to be unpleasant and turned a wonderful room in something to be avoided in the dark. A comfortable reading chair would be a plus in the room (with lighting of course).

Perfect location, helpful staff, and comfortable rooms
The hotel is in a great location, very close to all the main attractions in town. The staff were incredibly friendly and always willing to help with anything we needed. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, making our stay very enjoyable. the breakfast was excellent and offered many options to choose from.
The hotel lacked some key amenities that we were looking for, such as a gym or spa. The internet connection was also quite slow, which made it difficult to stay connected with friends and family back home.

Everything breafast was very pour for what the room charge was, in the internet shows one thing and in reality is another thing.... Good example no elevator from the first floor in the internet do not specify this, very misleading especially for handycab people.. Overall no good I will not stay in this hotel there are better hotel with the same rate..

The staff was always friendly and very helpful with any needs that we had. We always felt very welcome. The breakfast that the hotel prepared each morning was very nice also. We have stayed at this hotel on two different occasions and we look forward to staying there again in the near future.

The hotel is conveniently located just a block away from the city center and, therefore, in walking distance to all the main attractions of this city. I also appreciated that it was next to the main street, making transportation very easy. The staff was very welcoming, friendly, and helpful. They even took me to a nearby Inca ruin and charged me less than a tour. Plus, the breakfast was very nice.
Can honestly say there wasn't anything not to like.

The wonderful staff is the main reason we will stay there again during our winter break. The central location in the down town area makes it easy to get around and learn to navigate the streets.
The street side can be a little noisy if you go to bed early. Request a room on the back side of the hotel for peace and quiet.

Service was far beyond most hotels in Usa and exceeded expectations based on price of hotel stay. Very helpful staff, breakfast included. Comfortable bed good linens in bath and on bed. Located close to historic center of Cuenca. Near lots of banks, local shops, park & very secure.would definitely recommend!
Tourists from South Africa often stay at these properties. Ideas for your future trips.
